In a joint operation, the Narcotics Control Bureau, in collaboration with the Indian Navy, apprehended a suspicious dhow carrying almost 3,300 kgs of contraband (3,089 kgs Charas, 158 kgs Methamphetamine, 25 kgs Morphine), setting a record for the highest-ever offshore seizure by quantity in the country.

The five accused, all foreigners, have been arrested. The seizure occurred at a port in Porbandar. The NCB will hold a press conference at 3 pm today.

In response to information gathered by the P8I LRMR aircraft during a surveillance mission, an Indian Navy ship, deployed for a mission, was redirected to intercept a suspicious dhow involved in contraband smuggling.

The combined efforts of the Indian Navy and NCB led to the seizure of the largest quantity of drugs from the dhow. The apprehended boat, crew, and contraband were handed over to Law Enforcement Agencies on February 27.
