At least six persons were detained after the Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 14 locations in Punjab and 2 locations in Rajasthan against a terror-criminal nexus.

Searches were conducted in the districts of Amritsar, Bhatinda, Moga, Sangrur and Kapurthala in Punjab and Charu and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan.

After searches, 6 persons are being examined for their involvement in terrorist activities while several digital devices, mobile phones and incriminating documents have been recovered from the places searched.

It is expected that these searches will provide vital leads in Investigations related to Khalistan-organised criminal nexus.

Earlier on Monday, NIA filed a charge sheet against five Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives, including three Pakistan-based handlers of the banned outfit, in connection with an attack on civilians in Rajouri district last year.

The final report against a juvenile who was also apprehended in the case will be submitted to the Juvenile Justice Board in Rajouri, a spokesperson of the federal agency said.
